Double Entry

I admit the title may perhaps be a tad misleading. Multiple entry might be more appropriate. It's been quite a long time since I updated my adventure report. Actually about 7 weeks of intense good times and fun have been had since I last reported in. Perhaps it would be a little ambitious and extremely long winded and even boring to read 7 weeks in one go so I'm going to do a general summary with some highlights. Sorry if it's not up to its usual AMAZING witty standards.
Lets get the nasty bit over first.
After 3.5 months in India with no real stomach trouble to speak of the Delhi Belly finally caught up on me. I spent 8 hrs of a 12.5 hr flight from Bombay to Sydney in the toilet under going what can only be described as "purging". If it was not for "Camp Greg" the Qantas Steward I would have surly died. Unfortunately in my delirium I managed to give out the wrong signals by licking his hand. Chris collected me from the airport and after not seeing each other for over 6months we were both looking forward to a bit of a booze up Aussie style. All I wanted to do was get horizontal no more than 5 steps from the throne. It took me another 2 weeks in Australia before I gave up my one man espresso machine impersonation, thought I actually felt fine. I'm unsure if it was the fruit salad in Rajastan or the Ladies Fingers on the over night train to Bombay. Coming to Australia after India was all about taking a "holiday" with my good friend Chris. To add to this Robbie aka Satan would also be in Sydney meeting us for New Years. A great time was already on the cards. Back in London the 3 of us would hit the euro-alps for boarding and hang out in London. There were also lots of people I knew from West London in Sydney during the Christmas break and hanging out in Chris's Cliff top apartment over Bondi Beach was ideal to unwind and relax and party. Seeing Bella and Dax and their two kids Oska and Mia was also a highlight. They looked cool and relaxed and was great to meet up in Manly. Sorry I need to blog check myself. I need to be more brief.

I stayed in Sydney for about 3 days before flying up to TownsVille to hang out with Abby and Lucy. We cuddled kangaroos and Koala and scuba dived on the reef and generally had a fab time chilling in Abby's mums pool and hitting the beach.

Ten days later I was back in Sydney for a great New Year on a yacht in the harbour under the bridge, the fireworks were great. The next day we went to Icebergs on Bondi where the A-grade celeb Paris Hilton was strutting her stuff. She is pretty, pretty ordinary really.
I did the Bondi to Coogee cliff walk with Abby where I bumped into Karen, a friend I did my PhD with in London, small world. We had a berry smoothie and caught up. Shame she was leaving the next day.

Trip up the east coast
After about 2 great weeks in Sydney Chris went back to work so Robbie and myself headed up the east coast for some tropical adventures. I went scuba diving again 3 more times. We swam in a natural gorge and rode the rapids. Went into the rain forest of Cape Tribulation to slide thought the canopy on zip lines at 30metres. We saw a wild Cassowary which is an endangered bird that is descended from raptors maintaining the same legs and same killer belly cutting claw of doom.
While kayaking we saw a shark and a whale. It was TOO hot. Staying in a porta cabin was not idea but it had aircon. We took killer jellyfish a lot more seriously after we were splashing around at 4am in the stinger nets only to later see the lifeguards had closed it during the day because some mini-stingers had come through resulting in one girl being hospitalized. The American girls were were with freaked out....we laughed.
We arrived in Brisbane with the full intention on visiting Fraser Island but ended up booking a flight to Fiji instead. Well what can I say about Fiji. It's hard to summarize
AMAZING.
On the 1st night we spent most of it in the pool trying to play pool volleyball and stealing Dacqueri.
I had the coolest Instructor ever (Alex) and after several deep dives, cave dives a night dive I got my PADI advanced along with some nasty blisters for my trouble. We hung out around the pool went fishing drank dirt (called karva) and partied all night. We played watersomething everyday.
We were blessed with a really cool group. Aussie mat was a nutter, the Canadian girls and Codi were indeed special and great fun. English Tim and Ruban, well not your usual diving instructor and pub landlord. Jon holding up the Northern Ireland corner discovering I was asleep in the toilet.
It was all good fun. It was emotional.....sob.....tears...booo hooo.
Mango Bay rocks.
Back to Sydney with our feet infections and unhealing wounds. Must have been the pool!
Right now I am waiting for my India Visa application to be approved to fly back to Bombay to buy a bike to ride down the west coast to Goa then Bangalore.
